This limited edition of 400 copies ‘White Vessels’ book contains Bohnchang Koo’s vessel series that he has been working for years, shooting these masterpieces of the Korean spirit and heritage, collected and exhibited all around the world.
Koo’s photographs are as delicate and persuasive as the vessels themselves. This body of work shows a seamless combination of Korean tradition and modernity, of traditional, contemporary and aesthetics.
This book, the 23rd publication by Bohnchang Koo including 2 limited edition books, had been uniquely designed with folding pages and carefully chosen textured covers. 전 세계의 백자 컬렉션을 찾아다니며 10여 년에 걸쳐 작업해온 구본창은 섬세한 감수성으로 대상의 본질을 포착하여 백자의 숨겨진 아름다움을 그만의 방식으로 새롭게 표현했습니다.
일본의 그래픽디자이너 야마구치 노부히로가 디자인했으며 손으로 들었을 때 기분 좋은 무게감과 페이지를 넘겨서 바로 보이지 않고 한 장 한 장 열어서 봐야하는 독특한 형태는 전 세계에 흩어져있는 백자를 찾아 새로운 만남에 설레이는 작가의 여정과 닮아 있습니다.
