Photobook Club Seoul presents #20 Contemporary Korean Photography.
This book was published in conjunction with the ILWOO foundation.
Contemporary Korean Photography
The 77 photographers selected in this project observe and interpret social and cultural changes in Korea from their own perspectives. Korea is expressed through portraits, cityscapes, records of daily life and digitally reconstructed works.
People who live within the same era shares a similar mindset. In that sense, the artists included in this book share a common point of departure in their work processes. The book ventures to survey the characteristic traits of contemporary Korean photography by examining artists who have used photography as their means of expression in an environment called korea that has experienced rapid changes over the last thirty years.
