Photobook Club Seoul presents #51 이정록의 신화의 빛_보이지 않은 것을 보다 | Jeonglok LEE's Mythical Gleams Seen in the Unseen.

It is humans’ inherent nature to pursue beauty. The best virtue to be pursued by a photographer would be everywhere, but it would be to visually express the beauty of what cannot be discovered with naked eyes. Sometimes, what is beautiful is not noticeable especially when the objects are non-materialistic: for instance, diverse and mystic experiences imbued by light, some spirit embedded in some object or energy exuding from a place. According to the Inward Training (‘Neiye’ in Chinese), ‘qi’ or ‘life-energy’ is a powerful salubrious reality that is present everywhere and within all tings. It is the ‘sacred qi’ that is the most important of all that reminds us that we are alive and gives us vitality. It is said that qi exists within all things, but non-living creatures are said to have solidified qi and the more defined they are, the purer their life energy, implying that a life itself becomes something precious.
